Multi-Masking Green Beauty Routine
Multi-masking, while intriguing, is still quite a new concept in the Green Beauty World. It describes the process when multiple facial masks are used or layered simultaneously on the skin to combat different skin concerns at one time. I personally find this method extremely efficient as you can target a number of issues your skin is going through in under 30 minutes. There's really no limit to how many masks you can apply at the same time but I personally usually stick to 2-3 for different products. Today I will be going through my routine when it comes to multi-tasking, which products I use and why!
Depending on what skin concerns I'm looking to tackle - the routine and the products will change. The one I will be discussing today is a routine perfectly suitable for overall skin wellness for combo,acne-prone & sensitive skin! Just like it's a mouthful to pronounce, it's quite a tricky one to find a perfect routine for and that's why multi-masking is such a wonderful concept - you can adjust it to your skin's needs. I chose three different products to address all the "usual suspects" my skin tends to deal with: dryness on the cheeks, oil/gunk build-up in the t-zone and hormonal break-outs that pop out here and there to keep me on my toes with my regiment. This routine will leave your skin feeling balanced, replenished and glowing with hydration!
While this Synergie Mask by Odacite is a multi-tasker in itself and it does work to detox, purify, firm & even out skin tone and can absolutely be applied to your entire face and neck - I will be applying it to my T-zone (middle of my forehead, nose, and chin). This will work on purifying my pores, pulling all the unnecessary buildup and balance the oil production. As it has brightening properties too and that will target post-acne discoloration.
Next up - we're addressing the dryness. This is usually something that I experience on my cheeks and forehead when there's a seasonal change, drops in the level of hydration and stress. This hydrating mask from Josh Rosebrook is one of my absolute favorites as it not only hydrates but also calms & cools down the skin. It's formulated to replenish and retain maximum skin cell hydration and is perfect for this multi-masking routine.
Let's work on those break-outs, shall we? Even though you could get away with applying Odacite Synergie mask to treat problem areas as well - especially if they're more of small bumps and clogged pores. I feel like this detox mask from Goldfaden Md specifically is better at drying out break-outs that are more problematic and seem to be furious at their own existence. This mask is formulated with Zinc Oxide, Colloidal Sulfur and Salicylic Acid. This trio is a total powerhouse when it comes to acne and will calm down the pesky breakout in no time.
If you would like to address the under-eye area at the same time - this will be the perfect opportunity! I would absolutely have done so but I currently don't have any eye masks on hand, however, if you'd like to get your hands on some - I recommend trying out the Juice Beauty Instant Eye Lift Mask or the 100% Pure Bright Eyes Masks. Both of these work absolutely beautiful and have a wonderful ingredient list!
Now, while I do love multi-masking, if you cannot bothered with applying even one mask, let alone three I have an alternative solution for you! I thankfully found a mask that can do it all! ( well maybe not get rid of an annoying breakout, but absolutely tackle all other skin concern including dryness, dullness and inflammation) As it's a sheet mask (less sustainable) and quite pricey (6$ a piece) it's not something I would use multiple times a week, however it is perfect for when you're in a rush or just too tired to mess around with multiple products. I can honestly say that I'm obsessed this this 100% Pure Mask as it's a total multi-tasker and a perfect skin "pick-me up"! It has a very impressive ingredient list (retinol, vitamin C, green tea, hyaluronic acid etc.) that even my sensitive skin loves. My complexion feels hydrated, brightened and firm after I use this mask and I if you're not into the multi-masking trend this is something I would highly recommend!
Whenever you decide to do a full multi-masking routine or opt for multi-tasking sheet mask, you will be pleasantly surprised at how wonderful you skin feels afterwards. I try to do one of the two at least twice a week and I have been extremely happy with the results. Let me know if you try it out and what did you think of the results!
