Summer Morning Skincare Routine
As it’s hot and sunny here in Texas, my current morning routine is adjusted to my skin needs specifically in these conditions. I want to keep my skin clean, hydrated and well protected from the sun. Even though I personally think sun protection is an important step for every skin type out there, as someone who suffers from rosacea, this step is non-negotiable in my routine. I use Vit C products under my sunscreen as Vit C has been shown to protect against ultraviolet and photocarcinogenesis which means it can protect the skin against sun damage and skin cancer and overall supplement your sun protecting regime. Petit Vour recently came out with a great blog post on this topic - click HERE if you would like to give a read.
✨Today’s Morning Lineup:
I was quite intrigued by this Vitamin C Polish when it first came out as it has a very unique formulation and is the first product to combine pure Vitamin C with vegan Probiotics. It's supposed to reduces the look of hyper-pigmentation and gently remove surface build-up. And even though I find this to be true, using this polish on it's own was not delicate enough for my skin. As per Osea suggestion, I started mixing it with their cleansing milk and now it is absolutely perfect. This product is definitely an investment in the beginning but honestly the jar is enormous and it's going to last you for a great amount of time. It really helped me with tiny bumps on my forehead and I find that overall my skin feels less congested since I started using this product.
Newer product in my routine and I haven't formed I final opinion yet. But I find it very refreshing and balancing. I love keeping this mist in my fridge for a afternoon or evening pick me up!
This cream's calming blend repairs the skin, stimulates cell growth, plus decompresses skin inflammation. It really calms my rosacea down and is perfect right before applying makeup.
Use of Vitamin C products was suggested to me by a number of skin professionals as it improves hydration, promotes collagen production, and reduces skin discoloration. It also protects skin from sun damage and that is the main reason I was recommended to use it as sun exposure aggravates rosacea A LOT. Vit C is a potent antioxidant, so applying it topically has been shown to protect one's skin from UV damage by neutralizing free radicals! In this way, it helps protect your skin better together with a sunscreen but should not be used by itself only.
I was always of the opinion that you cannot have a good moisturizer and an SPF in one but this product proved me wrong. This lightweight cream contains a powerful combination of active herbal extracts and plant oils that deliver anti-inflammatories benefits as well as antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients to the skin. The formula is meant to nourish, repair and protect the skin and I feel like it does exactly that. It feels beautiful on my skin, doesn't leave a white cast and this guy has 12% Non-Nano, Uncoated, Micronized Zinc Oxide. Honestly, a girl couldn't ask for more. Definetelly my favorite SPF to date. Get one (or two!) for yourself HERE.
Protecting you lips from the sun is just as important as protecting your skin. This lip balm is prone to leaving white cast and that is why I prefer to tap it in with my fingers rather than applying it straight from the tube. I am enjoying it other-wise!
