Morning Skincare Routine

Morning Skincare Routine

It took me awhile to find products that work for my skin. My skin is very sensitive, is acne-prone and has stubborn rosacea all other my cheeks that is easily triggered. All of that means that I have to be very careful about the ingredients, everything has to be gentle and 'clean'. At this point, however, I'm very happy with my morning skincare routine. I start with a Witch Hazel toner from Thayers. Which is gentle enough and helps me clean and tone my skin preparing it for next steps. I stopped washing my face in the morning years ago and I find that it helps with my oil production throughout the day plus my rosacea stays calmer like that. After the toner I spray rose water, at at the moment I'm using MV skincare Rose Water but really any organic rose water works just as well. This is also when I usually use my Jade Roller to depuff and wake up my skin. Then I apply 100% Pure Vit C serum, this was suggested to me by a number of skin professionals as it improves hydration, promotes collagen production, and reduces skin discoloration. It also protects skin from sun damage and that is the main reason I was recommended to use it as sun exposure aggravates rosacea A LOT. Vit C is a potent antioxidant, so applying it topically has been shown to protect one's skin from UV damage by neutralizing free radicals! In this way, it helps protect your skin better together with a sunscreen but should not be used by itself only. Next, I apply my FitGlow Beauty Redness Rescue Cream, it's calming blend repairs skin, stimulates cell growth, plus decompresses skin inflammation. It really calms my rosacea down and is perfect right before applying makeup. Last but most definitely not least I apply my Derma E Mineral Sunscreen. I really enjoy using this one, it doesn't break me out and it has 20% zinc oxide which is way higher than most sunscreens on the market. I might look for a 'cleaner' sunscreen later on but for now, this works great. And that is basically it for my skincare routine, but I do have two more products that I use. I apply Metta Coconut lip balm both at night and in the morning, it's my favorite natural lip balm. And then recently I have also been using Province Apothecary brow serum, however, so far haven't noticed any difference.

And that's a wrap! I know it sounds like a lot of steps and in my opinion, it definitely is! I was never one to apply multiple products to my skin because my skin (read: rosacea) never liked it! But this routine somehow works perfectly together and I can tell my skin is happy.

Let me know what your morning routine staples are and if we have any matching skin favorites?
